About the Salida New Year's Day 5K
The race runs on New Year's Day in Salida, which gives the whole thing a particular feeling. Costumes are encouraged, so the starting line tends to look a little chaotic in the best way. It is open to all ages and all paces, and the atmosphere reflects that.
