The course runs out of Northampton Airport on a newly certified route, so the surface is flat and the sight lines are long. An airport setting means open skies and runway-adjacent stretches that feel unlike most road races around here.
The post-race area has food and live brass band music, which gives the finish line a genuinely festive pull for people who stick around. There is also a balsa plane contest if you want something to do between catching your breath and eating.
