About the RunPA Trail Jamboree

The course at Camp Mack runs a loop through single track and double track trail, with roots, rocks, grassy fields and some dirt and stone road near the start and finish. It is not technical terrain, so newer trail runners are comfortable alongside people who log serious miles. The endurance format means you run the loop as many times as you can within your chosen time window.

Camping is free the night before, and runners can pitch a tent right near the start area or find a spot among the campsites on the property. Bib pickup happens in waves depending on which event you are running. A wood-fired pizza truck is on site during the event.

Common Questions About the RunPA Trail Jamboree

Will I finish last at the RunPA Trail Jamboree?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.4 Miles field finished slower than 10:23, and the last recorded finisher came in around 11:42, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the RunPA Trail Jamboree a good first 3.4 Miles?

It is a small race (39 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.4 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the RunPA Trail Jamboree?

The 3.4 Miles winner ran 5:44 while the median finisher took 10:23. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
