About the Running with the Dogs
The course runs out and back on the Creekside Trail, starting and finishing at the Dudley Road entrance. It is described as fast, which on a trail in this part of East Texas usually means flat and paved or packed surface. Students and athletes line the route to cheer, so there is noise out there even on a quiet morning.
Packet pickup happens before the start on race morning at the same entrance. Awards follow the main race, and the finish area doubles as a party with a DJ. The race benefits the local school district's education foundation, so the post-race crowd tends to include a lot of local families.
