About the Running Raider 5k
The race is part of Russia's Homecoming Festival, so the town has more going on around it than a typical standalone 5K morning. Chip timing is handled by a dedicated timing company. The fun run starts from a street corner in town after the main race wraps, which keeps younger or shorter-distance runners in the mix without splitting the morning in half.
Registration and packet pickup both happen at the school commons before the start, so everything is in one place. The start area is at the school, and the fun run sends people off from a nearby intersection shortly after the 5K finishes.
