About the Runnin' With The Devils 5k

The course runs through the neighborhoods around Chenango Forks on road, and the finish comes inside a stadium, where you circle the track to cross the line. It is a flat route, and the stadium finish gives the end of the race a different feel than a typical street finish. Proceeds go to the local cross country team.

Packet pickup and registration happen inside the stadium before the race. Parking is spread across several lots near the stadium, so finding a spot is not usually a scramble. There is fruit and cold treats at the finish.

Common Questions About the Runnin' With The Devils 5k

Will I finish last at the Runnin' With The Devils 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:52, and the last recorded finisher came in around 54:41, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Runnin' With The Devils 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (93 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Runnin' With The Devils 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:56 while the median finisher took 31:52. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
