About the Run Whiskey Run

The trails here are single-track, loamy, and well-shaded by the coastal forest, which keeps the ground soft and the running smooth. The route stays entirely on trail, with rolling terrain rather than anything punishing, and several distance options let you choose how deep into the woods you want to go. The trailhead serves as both start and finish.

Race-morning registration and packet pickup open at the trailhead before the first wave goes out. Come ready to run; there is no space for changing or showering on site.

Common Questions About the Run Whiskey Run

Will I finish last at the Run Whiskey Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5 Miles field finished slower than 1:01:08, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:55:06, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run Whiskey Run a good first 5 Miles?

It is a small race (51 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run Whiskey Run?

The 5 Miles winner ran 45:29 while the median finisher took 1:01:08. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
