The event draws people doing this on foot at whatever pace works for them, and the cause behind it connects to supporting military veterans, service members, and their families. It has the feel of a morning that matters to the people who show up.
Parking is spread across a couple of nearby schools, so getting in is straightforward. After the race, a food truck festival opens up in the same park, which gives you a reason to stick around rather than head straight to your car.
