About the Run the Vineyards - Rocklands Farm 5K
The course winds through a working vineyard and farm outside Poolesville, running over packed dirt, gravel, and grass. The terrain has a cross-country feel, with open field sections mixed in among the vines. It is hilly enough to be interesting but well-groomed throughout, and the farm setting gives the whole thing a different character than a road or park race.
Packet pickup runs race morning at a tent on-site, so there is no need to make a separate trip. After the race, the winery opens up for an after-party with live music, a food truck, and wine by the glass. Parking is free, and spectators are welcome to wander.
