About the Run the Ville

The course runs through Paradise Park, a certified route with chip timing. The park setting keeps things contained and straightforward, without much in the way of technical terrain. It reads as a neighborhood race, the kind of thing people run before spending the rest of the day outside.

The race feeds directly into a street festival on Main Street afterward, which gives the morning a longer shape than most. Food, music, and vendors carry on well into the evening, so finishing the race is more of an opening act than a conclusion.

Common Questions About the Run the Ville

Will I finish last at the Run the Ville?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 47:15, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:31:32, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run the Ville a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (62 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run the Ville?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 21:21 while the median finisher took 47:15. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
