The course runs on an actual airport taxiway and runway, which makes for a genuinely unusual surface. It is fully paved and flat, with wide open sky around you and no traffic to worry about. The race benefits a children's aviation exhibit at a local discovery museum, so the connection between the setting and the cause is direct.
