About the Run The Path 10k

The course heads out and back on paved county roads through open rural countryside around McNabb. It is not flat throughout; there are genuine rolling sections mixed with stretches where you can settle into a rhythm. The surroundings are quiet enough that deer and wild turkey are a real possibility, not just a promise on a flyer.

Packet pickup and race-morning registration open in the school cafeteria before the start. The course stays open to local traffic, with volunteers posted at intersections and mile markers to manage it. Food and drinks are waiting at the finish.

Common Questions About the Run The Path 10k

Will I finish last at the Run The Path 10k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:01:25, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:36:20, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run The Path 10k a good first 10K?

It is a small race (92 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run The Path 10k?

The 10K winner ran 36:51 while the median finisher took 1:01:25. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
