The course winds through the tree-lined streets of historic downtown Eatonton, past old architecture and spots with local ghost lore attached to them. It is flat enough that you are free to actually look around, and the Halloween costumes in the field make that worth doing.
After the run, the party moves to City Center Stage, where there are local food and drink vendors, an awards ceremony, and a costume contest with prizes for the most creative and scariest entries.
