About the Run for Type 1

The course at Creekside Park follows a paved trail in both directions, simple enough that navigation is never a concern. It suits a wide range of paces, from kids running their first race to faster runners who want a clean, quick effort. Age group awards lean heavily toward younger runners.

The race benefits juvenile diabetes research and is organized in honor of a child with Type 1 Diabetes. Runners who have Type 1 themselves are invited to reach out to the organizers so they can be recognized on race day. Post-race awards go out as runners finish rather than in a single ceremony at the end.
