This is a Thanksgiving-season road race organized by the local parks and recreation department, which gives it the feel of a town event as much as a race. Costumed runners compete for prizes, and spectators are encouraged to spread out along the route and cheer.
Bibs are handed out race morning, so there is no separate packet pickup day to plan around. Music plays along the course when the weather cooperates.
