About the Run For The Ribbons 5K and 1 Mile
The certified course starts and finishes at the Lynn Cancer Institute and winds through the Old Floresta neighborhood. The route is flat, with residential streets giving it a quiet, shaded feel. Proceeds go entirely to patients at the institute, so the race has a clear sense of purpose behind it.
Packet pickup runs in the days leading up to race morning at Runner's Edge, a local running store, with pickup ending at midday the day before the event. The start area is at the cancer institute, and an opening ceremony takes place just before the gun goes off.
