About the 30th Annual Run for the Refuge
The race runs on the north campus trails at the University of Fairbanks, starting from the ski hut. These are proper trail miles through a forested campus, not road or pavement. The event is tied to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and organized by a local environmental group that has been advocating for those lands for decades.
The start is at the ski hut on the north campus trail network. A virtual option lets people outside Fairbanks participate by covering a route of their own choosing, by whatever means they like.
