About the Run for the Hungry
The course runs through Mahr Park, starting and finishing at the kayak launch. Parts of it go on the road, so runners stay to the side and watch for traffic at crossings. The race benefits a local food bank, and age-group prizes go out to several categories, including strollers and dogs. It runs on Thanksgiving morning.
Packet pickup is the afternoon before the race. On race day, street parking is available near the kayak launch and in nearby lots. The kayak launch area itself is reserved for volunteers, but drop-offs near the start are fine before you find a spot.
