About the 2026 Run for the Children 5K 10K and Fun Run
The race runs through Etowah River Park, and both the longer distance options are certified as qualifying events for the Peachtree Road Race, so it draws runners with a purpose alongside those just out for a morning. The fun run brings younger kids and families to the start area, which gives the whole morning a wide spread of paces and ages.
Early packet pickup happens the evening before at a local Fleet Feet, which cuts down on the morning scramble. Race-day registration and pickup open early as a backup, and the fun run goes off before the main races, so families with little ones can be done and cheering by the time the longer distances get moving.
