About the Run for the Call 2027

The course runs along the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach, which keeps things flat and open with ocean air on both sides. It is a road race in the most literal sense, paved and straight, where you can settle into a pace early and hold it. The race benefits CopLine, a hotline that connects law enforcement officers and their families with support from retired officers who have been there.

Check-in opens on Arnold Avenue before the start, and there are brief remarks from the race director and founder before the field gets moving. Post-race food and drinks are part of the morning. The boardwalk setting makes it easy to find and easy to navigate.

Common Questions About the Run for the Call 2027

Will I finish last at the Run for the Call 2027?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 32:06, and the last recorded finisher came in around 49:44, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run for the Call 2027 a good first 5K?

It is a small race (47 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run for the Call 2027?

The 5K winner ran 19:28 while the median finisher took 32:06. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
