About the Run for the Beaches 5K & Fun Run/Walk

The course runs along the shoreline at low tide, where the sand is wide and hard-packed enough to run on comfortably. It goes out and comes back, so you cover the same stretch twice and get a good look at the water both ways. The shorter fun run uses the same beach setting.

Parking is free at several city lots nearby on race morning, but you need a pass for your dashboard, handed out by volunteers when you arrive. Post-race there is live music, a food festival featuring local restaurants, and a complimentary drink at the finish.
