The course starts on pavement outside the forest, then moves onto wide single and double track trails winding through the trees and along a creek. There is genuine rolling terrain throughout, with the climbs spread across the route rather than bunched in one spot. Rocks and roots are marked, which helps on sections where the trail narrows.
