About the 4th Annual Run for Tacos

The course follows the Santa Clara path out of Bayard, starting in front of a high school. It is a point-to-point style route on a dedicated path, so you are not threading through traffic. Runners go first, then walkers set off a few minutes behind, which keeps the field from bunching at the start.

Packet pickup opens the morning of the race in the high school parking lot, well before the gun. There is also race-day registration available at the same spot, though runners who register that morning should expect a non-chip result. Tacos are waiting at the finish.

Common Questions About the 4th Annual Run for Tacos

Will I finish last at the 4th Annual Run for Tacos?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3 Miles field finished slower than 29:20, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:51, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 4th Annual Run for Tacos a good first 3 Miles?

It is a small race (82 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 4th Annual Run for Tacos?

The 3 Miles winner ran 16:53 while the median finisher took 29:20. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
