About the Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run

The course starts at a park activity center and winds through the paved neighborhood streets behind it. The terrain is mostly flat, so there is not much to brace for. Volunteers and public safety officers stand at intersections throughout, which makes it easy to stay on course without second-guessing a turn.

Check-in happens at the park before the start. After the race, there is music, games, snacks, and water available for runners and spectators alike. The race benefits a local nonprofit that provides housing and support for girls who have survived sex trafficking, so the post-race gathering has some weight to it.
