Mukilteo, WA
The course runs along the waterfront in Mukilteo, with views of the mountains and the sound. Bald eagles nest in the area and show up often enough that spotting one mid-race is genuinely common. Sea lions are sometimes audible from the water. The town turns out to support it, and the atmosphere reflects that without much fuss.
