About the Run 4 The Parks

The course runs through historic downtown Springville and starts and finishes inside Big Springs Park, which sits at the center of town. The route is road, relatively short, and passes through the older part of downtown before looping back to the park. Age group awards are presented at the registration tent shortly after the last runner finishes.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the sports complex storm shelter near the tennis courts, with a backup option at the park on race morning. The broader event includes food trucks, vendors, and a splash pad, so there is reason to hang around after you finish.

Common Questions About the Run 4 The Parks

Will I finish last at the Run 4 The Parks?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 28:37, and the last recorded finisher came in around 55:04, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run 4 The Parks a good first 5K?

It is a small race (159 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run 4 The Parks?

The 5K winner ran 16:13 while the median finisher took 28:37. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
