About the Run 4 Brighter Days 5K

The course runs through Lynches River County Park, so expect tree cover, natural surroundings, and a park road underfoot rather than city pavement. The race supports brain health awareness and teenage suicide prevention through the Jonathan C. Smith Foundation, and the park setting gives the morning a quieter, outdoor feel.

Packet pickup and registration open early on race morning at the park, so there is no separate trip the day before. An awards ceremony follows once everyone has crossed the finish. The park also hosts an Environmental Discovery Center with live exhibits and a treetop canopy walk, which gives families something to do after the race.
