About the Ruck 'N' Run® (12th Annual)

This is a Veterans Day weekend event built around a choice: carry weight as a rucker or go unloaded as a runner. Several distance options spread out along a route with exercise stations along the way. You can enter as a solo participant, go head-to-head as a competitor, or join a team. Ruckers are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to homeless Veterans at the finish.

Packet pickup details are laid out thoroughly on the event's own site, including guidance on what to carry, how much weight to load, and what to wear. The start is in Republic, so if you are driving in, the downtown area is your reference point. Post-race, the finish line doubles as a donation drop for the canned goods you hauled the whole way.

Common Questions About the Ruck 'N' Run® (12th Annual)

Will I finish last at the Ruck 'N' Run® (12th Annual)?

Almost certainly not. Half the 30K field finished slower than 4:41:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 6:32:54, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Ruck 'N' Run® (12th Annual) a good first 30K?

It is a small race (104 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 30K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Ruck 'N' Run® (12th Annual)?

The 30K winner ran 3:41:40 while the median finisher took 4:41:24. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
