About the Roxbury Thanksgiving Day Charity Race
The course starts near a community park, turns onto Rocky Mountain Road, then follows Hemlock Road down to a turnaround before coming back the same way. It is a straightforward out-and-back on roads, with a climb on the way out and a gentler return. Proceeds go to local ambulance and scholarship funds, and food donations for the town food pantry are collected at the start.
Top finishers take home wooden medallions made by a local craftsman who has been part of the race series for years. That detail alone says something about how this event fits into the town.
