About the Rosendale Runs Half Marathon and 6K Run/Walk

The course runs almost entirely on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, unpaved but well-groomed underfoot, with a couple of short detours off the trail that break up the rhythm. The big moment is crossing the historic Rosendale Trestle, a tall iron bridge spanning the Rondout Creek far below. The route also passes alongside scenic lakes and through a cave at the Williams Lake Project, all framed by fall foliage.

Race-morning pickup is available before the gun goes off. Post-race, there are raffle prizes and awards by age group, along with refreshments at the finish area. The race is put on by the Shawangunk Runners alongside the Wallkill Valley Land Trust, and proceeds support the trail itself.
