About the Roosters Memorial Day 5k Run
The course runs on certified roads out of Lancaster High School, returning to the same spot where the day began. It sits on the flatter side, with nothing technical underfoot, and the USATF certification means the distance is exact. The Memorial Day timing gives the morning a particular feeling, quiet streets and a holiday pace before the rest of town wakes up.
Packet pickup happens race morning at the school before the start. A short kids' run follows the main event, so families tend to stick around after crossing the finish. There are door prizes from local businesses and age group awards for the main race.

The Roosters Memorial Day 5k Run has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 18, 2026.
