About the Romeo Peach Festival

The race starts at the middle school and finishes at a community center a short distance away on Morton Street, so the course runs point-to-point through town. It is tied to the local Peach Festival, which means the streets have a late-summer fair feel to them rather than a typical road-race backdrop.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local electrical supply business nearby, with race-morning pickup also available before the start. The evening start time keeps things cooler, and the finish at the community center gives everyone a central spot to regroup after.

Common Questions About the Romeo Peach Festival

Will I finish last at the Romeo Peach Festival?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:27, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:09:48, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Romeo Peach Festival a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 248 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Romeo Peach Festival?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:38 while the median finisher took 30:27. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
