About the Robert's Run

Robert's Run is named for Robert Leonardi, and the foundation behind it puts that spirit into the courses themselves, which wind through the Bitterroot Valley on routes the organizers say show off the landscape well. A post-race festival with refreshments and games keeps things going after the finish, and the stroller-friendly shorter course means families tend to stay for a while.

Packet pickup is the evening before the race at the high school parking lot, with race-morning pickup available at the same spot. The timing chip is attached to the bib, so picking up your packet before the start matters.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Robert's Run

Will I finish last at the Robert's Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 36:31, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:20:46, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Robert's Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 426 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Robert's Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 15:58 while the median finisher took 36:31. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
