About the Rise 'n Run 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk
The course heads out from State Street through farm country on an out-and-back road route, so you pass oncoming runners the whole way and never feel isolated. Traffic is minimal out there. The surroundings are open fields and farmland, flat enough that the effort is honest rather than punishing. Rise 'n Roll donuts are waiting at the finish.
The race starts and finishes on State Street, which is closed for the morning. Parking nearby fills up, so volunteers direct traffic toward the library, an adjacent park, and neighborhood side streets. The race is part of the Middlebury Fall Festival, so food booths, vendors, and music are all going on once you are done.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Rise 'n Run 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
