About the Rise & Run 5K

The course runs on roads through Tom Bennett Park, flat the whole way, with no real climb to worry about. It is a New Year's Day race, so the crowd skews toward people starting something rather than chasing a finish time. Teams are a big part of the culture, with a prize going to the largest group. A portion of proceeds benefits a human trafficking survivor organization.

Packet pickup is available at a New Balance store in Sarasota the few days before the race, with race-morning pickup at the park as well. The start area opens well before the gun, so there is time to settle in. Registration is also possible on race morning, though you will need your phone and a card to complete it.
