About the Richwood Summerfest 5k Run / Walk
The course runs flat through the beach area of Richwood Park, which sits along the water and gives the route an open, easy feel. It is a straightforward out-and-back style morning with little in the way of elevation to worry about. The race benefits the local high school track and field program, so the crowd tends to include athletes, parents, and people who know each other.
Packet pickup opens at the Beach Shelter House before the start. After the race, the broader Summerfest festival is already underway in the park, so there is plenty to stick around for.
