About the Rhulen Rock Hill Run and Ramble 5K
The Rhulen Rock Hill Run and Ramble is named for Walter Rhulen, a dedicated runner whose family later founded the race's organizing foundation in his memory. The course lives up to its name, with a hillier profile than a typical road 5K. The foundation behind it supports patients and families dealing with blood cancers and other serious illnesses, so the cause is close to many who show up.
The race has been running long enough that many participants return year after year, and the atmosphere reflects that. It is a morning where the story of the Rhulen and Loughlin families is present in a real way, not just on a banner.
