About the Rev. Dr. Frank Napier Jr 5K Run/Walk
This race is named for a man who spent his career in Paterson's public schools, rising to become the first African American superintendent of those schools and later serving as a pastor. The entry fees support a scholarship fund in his name, so finishing the course puts money toward a cause rooted in this city's history.

The Rev. Dr. Frank Napier Jr 5K Run/Walk has been held every year since at least 2015. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
