The course runs around a reservoir, so there is water beside you for much of the route and the surroundings stay wooded and quiet. The terrain reflects the area, with some rolling sections rather than a purely flat road. Proceeds go to local children's organizations and school programs, which gives the morning a clear sense of purpose beyond the race itself.
