The course starts and ends at the softball complex in Vilonia, so you return to the same spot where you left. It is a road race, which means pavement underfoot the whole way. There are costume contests on the side, including one for dogs, and the event collects eyeglass donations, which gives the morning a charitable bent alongside the running.
