About the Reindeer 5k

The race kicks off a Christmas street festival in downtown Anna, so the finish area flows straight into a larger morning of holiday events. After the last distance wraps up, kids can make ornaments to take home, free of charge, which keeps families around well past the finish line.

Registration opens race morning at the Anna Arts center. Prizes go to the top finishers overall and across age groups for both men and women, so there is real competition at the front while the rest of the field runs into a downtown already filling up with holiday activity.

Common Questions About the Reindeer 5k

Will I finish last at the Reindeer 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 31:10, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:00:03, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Reindeer 5k a good first 5K?

It is a small race (50 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Reindeer 5k?

The 5K winner ran 19:02 while the median finisher took 31:10. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
