About the Rehab Rover Canicross and Trail Race - 10k, 5K, 1.25 Mile Sprint, Casual Dog Friendy 5K and Virtual 5K
The course runs through a working equine rehabilitation facility outside Gordonsville, so the surroundings are open and quiet in a way most trail races are not. The trail itself is genuinely technical: roots, rocks, narrow paths, mowed fields, and shallow water crossings all show up. The shorter sprint option is flat and fast, while the longer courses have real elevation and uneven footing throughout.
This is a dog-forward event, built around canicross, where you run tethered to your dog. A casual dog-friendly option lets you bring a pup without the competitive format. After finishing, there is a festival near a historic farmhouse on the property, with food trucks, a biergarten, live music, and vendors. Canine massage therapy is also available on site for participant dogs.
