About the Red Shoe 5k 16th Annual Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run

The course runs through National Harbor, along the waterfront. It draws runners and walkers of all speeds, with many people coming as teams connected to Ronald McDonald House Washington DC, which houses families whose children are receiving medical care nearby.

After the race, there is a celebration area with food vendors and live music. Kids get their own short run, and they do it in red capes. It is a post-race scene with more going on than most local fundraiser events.
