About the Reach the Beach 5K
The course runs out along the bay shore and back, passing through Sunset Bay twice before returning to the beach club where it started. The surroundings are the draw here: water on one side, a small beach community on the other. It is a road race, and the out-and-back shape means you pass familiar ground on the return leg.
The roads into the bay close shortly before the start, so arriving early matters. Parking is included with registration. After the race, a craft and vendor market sets up nearby at the waterfront grill, with live music and food running well into the afternoon. Proceeds from the day support the local volunteer fire department.
