About the Rainbow Weekend 5K
The course runs through the trees along the Portage Hike and Bike Trail, a path that feels removed from traffic even though the start and finish are right in town. The pace ranges from full run to a walk, and the crowd reflects that; this one draws people who are there to show up as much as to race.
The race starts and finishes at North Water Brewing Company, where a party follows the run. A portion of drink-purchase proceeds goes to a local fund that supports LGBTQ+ individuals and families in the county, so the post-race gathering has a purpose behind it beyond just hanging around.
