About the Race Thru the Redwoods

The course runs through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, starting and finishing at Roaring Camp Railroads. Most of the route passes under old-growth redwoods, which keeps things cool and shaded even in summer. The terrain is park trail rather than road, so expect dirt underfoot and a pace that the trees set more than the clock.

A pancake breakfast, put on by the Zayante Fire Department, follows the race at the finish area. It is included with your entry. There is also a kids race earlier in the morning, so the start area tends to have families around well before the main wave goes off.
