About the Race the Base Trail Run
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is the whole setting here, and the mountain earns its name. The original course circles the base on a mix of gravel, paved path, and rugged single track, finishing with a steep, punishing forest road climb the regulars call Joe's Revenge. The newer half marathon pulls in sections of the Monument Trail system, with rolling climbs and more technical terrain throughout.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at Fleet Feet on Cantrell Road, with race-morning check-in at Stuckey Field, right across from the park entrance. The start line and parking are both at Stuckey Field. The race falls on National Trick or Treat Day, so costumes are part of the scene, and a kids' fun run on the paved Kingfisher Trail rounds out the morning.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
