About the R2 - ResRUN26

The course starts at a park pavilion behind the middle school and heads out along a river walk trail to a park at the north end of town. Shorter distance runners turn back from there; those going longer continue south on the White Pine trail before looping back to the start. The terrain is mixed, so expect a little variety underfoot.

Food trucks and live music are set up at the finish area, and the atmosphere reflects the church series it belongs to. Proceeds go to a local organization that works with people experiencing homelessness, so there is a sense of purpose behind the morning beyond the running itself.

Common Questions About the R2 - ResRUN26

Will I finish last at the R2 - ResRUN26?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:46, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:22, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the R2 - ResRUN26 a good first 5K?

It is a small race (75 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the R2 - ResRUN26?

The 5K winner ran 20:05 while the median finisher took 39:46. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
