About the Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile

The course runs the criterium loop through the Village of East Davenport, starting at a street corner and finishing outside the Fire Museum. The route is tight and technical, the same circuit the pro cyclists race on, and the criterium crowds are still out when the runners go. It is a short, fast effort with real atmosphere around it.

Packet pickup runs race-day morning through the early afternoon, at the Running Wild tents near the basketball courts by Lindsay Park, just east of the Village Theatre. The start area is nearby, so you can pick up and walk over without much trouble.

Common Questions About the Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile

Will I finish last at the Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 1 Miles field finished slower than 7:39, and the last recorded finisher came in around 16:32, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile a good first 1 Miles?

It is a small race (107 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Quad Cities Criterium Running Wild Mile?

The 1 Miles winner ran 4:29 while the median finisher took 7:39. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
