About the Purple Day 5K
The race is part of a larger community athletic event put on by a school booster club, and it finishes inside a stadium. That ending gives it a different feel from a typical road race. The course runs through the surrounding area before funneling into the stadium, so the finish has a crowd already gathered for the evening's athletic announcements and activities.
Packet pickup is the evening before at the stadium's home concession stand. On race night, walk-up registration is open in the hour leading up to the start. The rest of the grounds are busy with vendors, a silent auction, bounce houses, a petting zoo, and other activities, so parking and the start area will have a lot of foot traffic beyond just runners.
